Public Seminars

The University of Virginia, Department of Environmental Sciences and its Anheuser-Busch Coastal Research Center (ABCRC) aims to host a monthly public seminar at the research facility in Oyster, VA.

UPDATE: Regularly scheduled seminars are expected to begin again in Fall 2018 or early 2019. In the meantime, intermittent offerings are announced in the local paper and on Twitter (@VCRLTER).

The purpose of the seminar series is to give the public the opportunity to learn about the environmental research projects being conducted on the Eastern Shore as part of the Virginia Coast Reserve Long Term Ecological Research Program, which is supported through a grant from the National Science Foundation and works in partnership with The Nature Conservancy.  Seminars may also be given by VCR-LTER research partners or agencies conducting environmental monitoring efforts on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Admission to the seminars is free, but seating is limited to the first 50 people.  Snacks and light beverages will be provided. Support for this seminar series is provided by the UVA Department of Environmental Sciences.
